Hala creates engaging medical content with the aim of simplifying complex scientific information for diverse healthcare audiences to promote understanding, informed decisions, and impactful communication.
Hala obtained her BSc and PhD from the University of Toronto. During her PhD she studied the intricate host-pathogen relationship between the fungal parasite, microsporidia, and the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. She also dedicated her time to mentorship and teaching, developing educational material for the University of Toronto and volunteering at numerous science outreach initiatives.
In her free time, Hala enjoys crocheting, sewing, knitting and embroidery and is always looking for a new hobby to learn. She enjoys reading fantasy novels and watching reality TV shows, but you might also find her at Pilates, Yoga or High intensity interval training (HIIT).
