Analytical and Ambitious

Ian is dedicated to advancing healthcare by innovatively crafting high-quality medical content aimed at educating both healthcare professionals and patients. Leveraging his strong background in molecular biology and scientific communications, he ensures that medical content is not only accurate and engaging but also strategically tailored to meet the specific needs of the target audience.

He holds a BSc in Molecular Biology and Genetics and a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Guelph. During his PhD, his research focused on unraveling the regulation of Wnt signaling, a pathway often dysregulated in colorectal cancer, through the development of zebrafish models. Following his PhD, he pursued Postdoctoral training at The Hospital for Sick Children, where he deepened his oncology research, laying the groundwork for modeling rare pediatric brain tumours in zebrafish. This experience not only fueled his passion for clinical science but also solidified his dedication to scientific communication.

Outside of work, Ian enjoys board game nights, jogging, drive-in movies, and doing his best to maintain his coral tank.
