Innovative Solutions for Medical Education: A Virtual OSCE Success Story for Neurology Residents

The Challenge

The Canadian Neurological Sciences Federation (CNSF) wanted to extend practice Observed Structured Clinical Encounter (OSCE) sessions to residents appearing for the Royal College OSCE in Neurology. In-person practice OSCE sessions were limited in reach, expensive and amounted to significant time commitment from both residents and evaluators.

The Solution

CTC liaised with KOLs in the neurology space to build mock cases to simulate real test cases. CTC built a custom website where neurology students could register for a mock session at their date and time of choice, and then orchestrated several virtual sessions where students would meet with an evaluator, present, and then receive feedback.
